Peptidci

Peptitler (Grekçe: πεπτίδια; “bayağı sindirilebilirler”) tanılamamlanmış bir düzende, α-amino asitlerin birbirine ilişkilanmasıyla oluşan endamsız polimerlerdir.[1] Bir amino asit kalıntısı ile öbürü arasındaki bağ bir “amit bağ” veya peptit bağı olarak bilinir.[1]

Tetrapeptit (Oligopeptit)
Proteinler polipeptit molekülleridir (veya çok adetda polipeptit alt birimi barındırır). Baz ayırt peptitlerin endamsız, polipeptitlerin/proteinlerin ise uzun olmasıdır.[1]

Protein sentezi esnasında her amino asit, öbür amino asite geceli gündüzlü, kırılmayan bir polimer olan polipeptid zincirleriyle ilişkilanır. Polipeptid bünyesına sıkılan amino asitlerin her biri bünyeya peptid ilişkilarıyla ilişkilanır. Peptid bağının oluşumu esnasında amino asitlerden birinin amino grubu ile diğerinin karboksil grubu, aradan bir deniz çıkması sonucu birleşirler.[1]

Averaj bir polipeptit zinciri 450 amino asitten oluşur.[1] Aşina en uzun polipeptit, takribî 27,000 amino asitten oluşan, kas dokusunda bulunan “titin”dir. Polipeptid zincirine sıkılan amino asitlere kalıntı (residue) adı verilir.[1] Zincirin bir ucundaki kalıntı, bağ yapmamış, sere serpe amino grubu barındırır ve N ucu olarak adlandırılır. Aynı şekilde zincirin öbür ucundaki sere serpe α-karboksil grubu olan kalıntıya C ucu adı verilir.
